Is the 12 volt trigger in the MSC400 assignable to a particular macro?

I have a projector without a 12 volt trigger, which means that my screen needs to be operated manually or I have to use the 12 volt trigger in my receiver. The problem is that if I do that every time that I turn the receiver on the screen will come down.

What I want to do is use a macro for, lets say, "watch DVD" and have a 12 volt trigger command assigned to it so that the screen will only come down only when this macro is invoked. I presume this can be done because the MSC400 is always on, which means that the 12 volt trigger would be always active if it were not assignable by a command.

Does anyone have a more "elegant" solution to this problem?

Yes, that is exactly how to do this. Hook the screen trigger to one of the relays in the MSC400, and turn it on with the macro that turns on your projector. The R with the switch above it in the macro editing box will let you insert a command to turn the relay on or off.

The way I would do it is create two macros, one for screen down that turns on the relay and one for screen up that turns off the relay. Then call those two macros from the "watch DVD" and "all off" macros (and any other use that uses the screen).

Not sure why this isn't an elegant solution -- it is really what the two relays in the MSC400 are there for.

Thank you very much for your indications and hints. You surely touched on something that I had not thought about, rolling up the screen.

You are correct, this is indeed an elegant solution and one that I was hoping could be implemented. I was probably thinking of the hardware contraption that I have there now.
