I'm brand new to URC and am testing out the MX-810 and MX-980 remote controls but I'm having some problems.

The problem is that when you lightly press on some of the buttons they simply don't work. When you are navigating quickly around the remote with your fingers it's annoying when a $600 remote control misses multiple button presses.

What I mean is that on certain buttons you have to press them much harder than others. For example, on both remote controls the "defective" buttons are different, but both have problems with the arrows and the skip buttons. The MX-810 also has a problem the "0" button.

I doubt there is much I can do about it, but since I have the problem one two different brand new remote controls, I suspect it's the way the remotes are built (as opposed to me getting one defective unit).

Does anybody else have this problem? I'm really disappointed :(

This sounds like a hardware problem. I haven't had the problem on my 950, but the 810 and 980 are new designs.

Hopefully someone who owns them can comment.

I felt this way about my MX-3000 buttons (think how you would feel if your $1000 remote did this!). But it was a very early model. I now am using the 980 and feel the buttons are much better. And none seem to be extra sensitive or "insensitive".

I can't speak for the 810, but it sounds like a hardware issue with the 980.
