I'm looking at getting the MX-350 remote, but I can't stand it when URC makes the ON/OFF button macros global.

I've been real happy with the URC-200 but need a second remote for another room.

The ON & OFF macros, or any macros on the mx350 are not global.

Great! Thx. I didn't know if the MX-350 was setup like the Rf-20 or not.

With the exception of the RF remote addressing capability, is the MX-350 essentially the same as the URC-200?

Pretty much, but it also doesn't suffer from the learning problems the urc series does.

The new MX-350 (not the "osirus" just MX-350) has discrete codes in their data base!!

The pages of commands for the device are also accurite for the model entered instead of the "generic" labels in the osirus and 200.

That's a HUGE improvement!!

I use a lot of the 350's for simple systems and the time savings is huge over the osirus.

I used to have to spend an hour editing buttons and use an MX-900 to learn discrete codes into the osirus.........not anymore!

Thanks URC!!
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Proud to say that my property is protected by a high speed wireless device!

Thanks for the info, Pilgrim. Is this "new MX-350" out now? How do you make sure you get it and not the Osiris? Does the new MX-350 have remote address codes for specific devices too?

The MX-350 (not Osiris) has been out for quite awhile. Any authorized dealer shouldn't have any "Osiris" models anymore. The code dataabse is updated as pilgram mentioned, but it's still a 3-digit codes listed by manufacturer, not model specific.

Could you explain a little more about what the new MX-350 does that the Osiris doesn't? I'm not sure I understand what's different. Is it remote address capable? what exactly is improved upon? can you give an example?

Pretty much just what was mentioned above. Database improvement and also uses narrow-band RF (for use with the MRF-260 and 350 base stations). It will work with any base station though. Both the old model and new model have RF assignment by device and emitter, as well as receiver ID. LCD labels change with a code assignment and in some cases, discrete on/off commands are present.

Stupid question, but does that mean the Newer MX-350 doesn't say 'Osirus' anywhere on it/the box? Just trying to distinguish the two from each other..

Thanks!

Hi,

I have an Mx-350 trying to control a Samsung LCD TV, put I need the discreet codes for the inputs. Where can I get the codes, and what cheap remote do you recommend to pull the codes down and teach the MX-350.

A UEI made remote, like the radio shack 15-2200, 15-100, and 15-135.
