I have an MX-600 that has a Ram Empty message.
I cannot seem to get it to work pass the self test.
This also happened a long time ago and then all of a sudden started working.
I like the remote, and being in Canada do not want to go through all of the hassles with RMA etc.
Does anyone know how to open these things? Maybe I can try a little servicing on my own.

Otherwise, are there any Universal Remote units that have a built in timer that send out an IR command after a programmed amount of time?
Thanks

There's not a lot you can do with the RAM EMPTY message, even if you did open it up. It needs to be done by URC.

As far as timers are concerned, some Sonys have them. For URC remotes, it's only the MX-3000 (and upcoming MX-980).

You need to know where you want a standard timer (which works like an alarm clock - you set the remote to specifically do something on wednesdays at 4:30PM for example), or a "sleep timer" (you tell the remote to do something "an hour from now"). It's very hard to find sleep timers in remotes.
