I've recently purchased a Philips dvp3960 dvd player, and have programed my Mx-500 to control it by using the learning method except for one problem I haven't been able to solve. I cannot get a command to work twice in a row. IE if I want to fast forward, when I press the button the first time it will cause the dvd player to go to 2x fast forward, but when I press the fast forward button the second time it will stay in 2x fast forward and not increase to 4x as it will with the oem remote. Any ideas?

See this link [Link: remotecentral.com]Parity bit: Some remote controls change their codes each time the signal is sent. For instance, if you press the number "5" the code would end in a "0". The second time you press it the code ends in "1". The problem with this is that a learning remote control can learn only one of those signals – not both. Thus, such devices typically will not respond to a universal remote when you send the same code twice in a row (for instance the channel "55"). For more help on this problem click here. Also known as a toggle bit. See also: learning.
