I just received a RF10 and a OFA 9910 (Thanks Edmund). I am a complete novice, so please take pity. My question is: How do I set up a macro that includes changing to a specific input on my Samsung DLP. I assume that there will be no codes for specific inputs in either remotes database for this TV. The button on the Samsung remote just cycles through inputs. Is this a discrete code that I need to obtain. Can I get these codes over the phone from OFA or do I need to go the JP1 route and transfer to the RF10.

Theres a good chance all you need are the advanced codes already preset into the 9910, for the tv. But the advanced codes for samsungs sets have changed many times over the years. If a setup code in the 9910 accepts advanced codes, not all do, there are 256 available, from 000 to 255. If I were you I would do my homework before attempting to search advanced codes, check the discrete hunter forum on this site. Prehaps searching for "EFC", another name for advanced codes.

Based on both of these "233" would be the code to switch to HDMI 2, hopefully? I think I'm on track now. Now it will just be trial and error.

One more dumba$$ question. Would the proper procedure for getting this command as part of a macro on the RF10 be: Save command to a 9910 button > learn that button to a button on the RF10 > enter the taught RF10 button in the macro sequence > delete taught button on RF10.

I looked at that file and no there aren't any efc/advanced codes listed. Prehaps one jp1 experts can changed them to efc's for you.

The commands that make up the macro have to already be mapped to a keys on the RF10, for as long as they are used in the macro. Thats why you put them shifted keys on the rf10, out of the way from day to day operation of the remote.

Damn it. What is that 233 number next to HDMI2 in both of the items. Could I get the efc's from calling OFA customer service.

Edit: What is this cross reference table [Link: hifi-remote.com]. Could I reference #233 to find the corresponding efc.

Looks like you can, see Robman's response in your hifi forum thread, he came up with EFC 081. And in that that table under OBC 233 you'll find EFC 081.
