I just got this tonight and so far I have my 'Watch' list named.

I have programmed lets say the 'Tivo' button to go to the TV Input 3 when pushed.
Same with all the other buttons.

My question is: How to I program the 'Tivo' button to take over the Tivo commands, meaning 'Menu', 'Guide' and such.

Do I need to program each button using face to face?

With my old remote you could just type in a number like 0150 and the buttons would then work for that device.

I have tried to use the 'IR Database Navigator' which works great but after you enter the device, brand and model it wants you to pick a command. I don't want to, I just want that button to control that device

At the top of the screen and to the right of 'create and name devices' is the 'IR data base".
That will take you to the list that will 'fill your buttons'.

Cool thx, there are so many options.

You can read the manual but sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming

One more question please:

I have some music listed under 'Listen'.
When I push "BigBand" I would like it to go to channel 901 on my cable box.

I can get it to pick my cable box from the 'IR Database Navagator' but how do you pick more then 1 number?

I did find that you can put "Music\Enter\#" and that gets you to the list of music channels on the cable box which is a step in the right direction.

Under 'listen', make a 'big band' button(source).

Then click on the button, go to the 'macro' box(lower right) and click 'record'(the button will turn red when you mouse over it) then go to the cable page and click on the appropriate numbers on the hard buttons of the simulated remote.

The macro box should read something like this

1) go to page cable
2) 9 cable
3) 0 cable
4) 1 cable

Then click on the 'save' (next to the record).

For the record, the IR data base navigator is for advanced programing.

You will do much better using the IR data base for gneral use.

ok, I will give that a try

One other issue I'm having is:
I have a Toshiba RD-XS54 DVR/DVD recorder/player

I go to 'IR Database' and my model is listed but for some reason the 'Menu' button will not work.

I have tried learning from the orginal remote and also tried using 'IR Database Navagator'. Nothing is working

Debbie25,

Read the section in the manual (Click Help / User Guide) to get familiar how to create MACROS for your remote, that will help with the questions you are asking.
You win some, you loose some...

I have a Toshiba RD-XS54 DVR/DVD recorder/player

I go to 'IR Database' and my model is listed but for some reason the 'Menu' button will not work.

I have tried learning from the original remote and also tried using 'IR Database Navigator'. Nothing is working

Delete the database code and then try learning.

Also, try the tips and tricks found here.

Thx, some very good suggestions in that link and I will try them when I get home tonight.

One thing that is weird about when I do use the database.
I test the button before saving it and it tests just fine, then I save it and download it to the remote and then it doesn't work. You can hear the beep like it is excepting a command but the menu will not come up.

Confuses me.

OK, I have tried all the Tips listed on that web site and nothing worked.

I also tried picking other models close to mine.
