Good evening. I guess the best way to start is to list out my equipment, so here goes.....

Panasonic 47" Rear Projection HDTV
Toshiba HD-A2 HD DVD Player
Tivo Series 3
Sony Blu Ray Player
Toshiba DVD Recorder
Pioneer Elite VSX-74TXVi A/V Receiver
Sony 400 Disc DVD Mega Changer
Mitsubishi VCR
Monoprice HDMI 5x1 Switch
Xbox 360

What would be a good option for me remote wise to control my components. I'm looking to have macros set up to turn on my various components based on what I'll be doing, i.e., watch TV, turn on TV, Pioneer A/V receiver, switch HDMI switch to input 1 and punch through volume to have it controlled by the Pioneer.

I was looking at the MX-500 and even the 850 and 900. Which one would do the best job for me or do I have other options/suggestions.

Thanks for the help.

MX-850 or MX-900. The MX-500 is not PC programmable, so you'll have a difficult time with discretes, plus programming it is a lot more time consuming.

Both the MX-850 and MX-900 could handle it well, you'd be best to choose between the two based on the design of the remotes.

It looks like he nail it, both could handle what you need, it is a cosmetic choice. Which one look better to you? If those are in your price range its more about looks. The MX-900 is has more macros that can be programmed but in my house I have 2 MX-850's becouse I liked the feel better. I have client that like the feel and look of the MX-900. It's all what you like.

Thanks

Thanks.

Getting ready to pull the trigger on the MX-900.

Couple of last minute questions.

1. Will the software work on Vista (64 bit)?

2. Does this remote remember the "state" of the components, i.e., if the TV is on and I want to watch a DVD will it leave the TV on and just turn on the DVD player?

Thanks.

At this point in time the remote don't do veriables, and for vista, I think they have made it work but I am not positve. There have been alot of threads on that but I have not looked at them.

Thanks
