Darnitol,

Are we allowed to freely distribute the Gravity Template? I have had several requests for it but I really respect your work and would rather not have you angry at me so I figured I had better ask permission. Also, if we aren't allowed, what about distributing example files that happen to use the Gravity Template? I use it on my remote and would hate to have to redesign my interfaces in order to show examples to people with questions.

BTW, thanks for all the work you did on that. It is still my favorite template (though I haven't seen alpha yet as I am not a CI or a dealer).

Regards,

Gravity is actually a template I created for my personal use before I even came aboard here at URC. Although the only place I've ever made it available is URC Control Room, it was never intended to be an installer exclusive. In fact, tripleBsoftware has always had my OK to distribute it on their site. (I originally created the graphics style of Gravity for DMX-3000, and liked it enough to build myself an entire template from the idea.)

I have no issues with the template being distributed or used, though I have no intentions of uploading it to any other public forums. So yes, feel free to share it, or files made with it. If you want to upload Gravity-based files here at Remote Central, that's fine. Just don't upload the actual template or gallery. The copyright remains intact, but since no one is asking for any money, there are no worries as long as you leave the copyright notice in place.

The layout of Gravity was the basis for the layout of Alpha, which as you've noted has thus far remained an installer exclusive. There have been changes to the MX-3000 firmware since I made Gravity, and unfortunately those changes tend to make Gravity operate somewhat slowly. With the benefits of Alpha, I just haven't seen much utility in spending the time necessary to get Gravity working at full speed again.

Best regards,
Dale

I am new to the MX-3000, but it seems to have everything I need - except the custom graphics.

I think I made a request to get both the Old-School countdown and your modern version of the countdown you posted to the forum.

Can I get the countdown code and the Gravity templates from the URC site, or do I have to download them from somewhere else?

Dick.

If you have access to URC Control Room, the Gravity template and my variable-based countdown are there. I also have a very large animated GIF that count down from 5. It eats up a huge amount of memory in the remote, but you can use it without any programming.

I am assuming you are not a CI as you are in this forum and not the other (if you are a registered CI, you can get them from the dealer site as Darnitol said). URC doesn't officially support the homebrew community per se, although several folks such as Darnitol are very good about helping out as they have time.

To answer your question above, you can find a lot of what you are looking for here:

Hope that helps.

If it helps any... I have no problem with Aedile sharing the entire template and gallery with others. I just don't want it posted on a forum for public download. Ironically, this is primarily due to my friendship and respect for Braken Baker, author of DMX-3000. Although he's been too busy to update his site in a while, he still has my okay to put the file up for freely available download.

I must have sent that template to 200 people when I first created it. I won't lie... it just kind of got old emailing such a large file so many times.

I just tried to download the Stations.zip file, as well. It does not open either.

URC Control Room is a member's only site for professional URC installers and dealers. I mentioned it here because many of the people who visit this forum are also professional installers. I apologize if I sent you on a wild goose chase.

DSIGRIS,

Try redownloading. I did a test from a different computer and they work fine for me.
