How can I take a code from the IR Database and insert it into one of the LCD buttons under my TV device? Whenever I do it, it replaces all of the commands I have already learned to the TV device with codes from the database.

A little more information: Under my TV device, I have learned commands for Power on, Closed Captioning, etc. I have created a button under the TV device called Vid 5, and I( would like to use the discrete command found in the IR database to change to video input 5. How can I take the command from the IR database, and insert it into the button called Vid 5, without getting rid of the buttons that utilize my learned commands?

If you have an MX-850 or lower, you can't. If you have an MX-900 or higher, you can use the IR Database Navigator to drag in individual commands. If you are using an MX-850 or lower, you can create a new device, bring in all of the IR database commands for your TV, then use a shortcut from your TV device to access the commands you want. Otherwise, the way to do it would have been to start with all the IR database commands, then erase the ones you don't want/need and replace them with learned commands.

Thanks for the response. When you say a shortcut, do you mean a macro that calls the commands?

Technically that would work, but you can shortcut buttons through copy and paste. Although no right click menus come up, you can click a button with a command, use control+c to copy it, then click the button that you wish to place the shortut on, and press control+v to paste it.
