The countdown is an animated GIF. If you put it in as a background image, it'll run. The only limitation I've found is that it runs a certain number of frames and then restarts. So, if you have too many frames, it won't play the end.
I'm using that same countdown on mine, and I had to remove quite a few of the intermediary frames to make it run all the way through to the end. Looks fine, though, so no complaints. Just something to be aware of.
The frame limitation is sixty. It's an issue of the amount of memory that's allocated to each page in the memory of the MX-3000. I've got my countdown going from 5 down to 1 in sixty frames.

Very good to know! I figured out the limitation (the hard way!), but I didn't know what the limit was so I just removed all the frames I could. Just as well in my case, since I'm pushing up against the upper memory limit as it is, but that's very useful info.
