I've been using an MX-800 & MRF-200 for years to control my system. As of yesterday my direct tv receiver now seems to get duplicate IR commands. Channel up one results in two. Menu command brings it up and then removes it etc. Re-Uploaded my remote and RF/Ir config with no change. Changed IR emitters with no change. Changed ports on the MRF-200, no change. Sheilded the IR emitter and then varied the unsheilded hole size, no change and also varied the location of the emitter. Help! Any ideas? It seem like the direct tv receiver has become over sensitive to the IR commands.

Changed the batteries ?

The HR20 is sensitive. I mounted my emitters over on the side of the cabinet, but there's no reason it should suddenly change.

Turn on the backlight and see if the remote dies...

All DirecTV receivers are subject to automatic downloads of new software from the satellite. It's possible your receiver got some change that is affecting IR processing.

It might help if you posted which model of DirecTv receiver you have, but it's simple enough to check if there was a s/w update recently using your setup screen.
