Hi I have a DV-F727 DVD Pioneer mega-changer that I want to control with my MX-700. I want to be able to select the CD number (placement) while the player is out of view (I'm using an extender). This is difficult to do when not viewing the machine directly since you never know if you are on chapter or some other mode. I want to be able to press a button on the remote and it goes directly to add the # of the CD location. The Pioneer CD player is more easier to use in this manner.
Thanks.

I dealt with my automation issues on my 727 years ago and so I can't remeber the specific resons that I did did what I ddid but I use my 727 with 2 other sony 985s with Brackens DMX software and everythings works perfectly . I never watch which disc numer is being selected and this method puts that info on you tv screen anyway.
Heres my macro up to the disc number followed by play;
Stop Dly .2 Stop Dly.2 Stop Dly .2 Clear Dly .2 Clear Dly .2 Clear Dly .2 Stopt Dly .2 Play Mode Dly .2 Play Mode Dly .2 Stop Dly .2 Search Mode
This is where you enter the disc number and hit play. You should see the current disc Tittle and the new disc number that you are entering .
The last part of the macro I remember resets the play mode to ALL which is a must as you probably know.
Some of the stuff at the top you may be able to det rid of in your situation . But as I said. I needed it at the time for some resaon and I no longer remember why. But I do know that it works.

Thanks Lane for your help. I did not make it as complicated as yours, but you did give me the idea of using a macro and it works well. all I did was enter search twice and it brings me straight to disc number. I have my MX-700 programmed to use the key pad to work with my DVD player. All good.
Thank you.
