My Universal remote (MX-500) will not learn from the Elite remote. The only button that works is the Power. The volume, inputs, etc. will not learn, despit the LCD on my remote says "good" please help thanks.

The remedy is to teach to a third remote, then use that to teach the mx-500.

Like a Cox remote ? The other universal (I think) is my Cox Cable DVR/HD remote. Thanks, will try it. I find it funny as though the MX-500 only learned the power on/off, but not the rest.

No, a learning universal remote, perhaps a one-for-all like 8820. Cable remotes are not learning remotes, they're preprogrammed remotes.

I did what was suggested..... learned off a 3rd (Cox). I can power on/off, and use the volume on my receiver now, but rest doesn't want to work.
