I've programmed my M1-3 buttons to perform various tasks:

M1: Audio Power & TV Power
M2: TV Power
M3: Toggle Audio effect (surround) on/off

I need these while using my system. (For example TV power when I want to watch TV after listening to audio only.)

The problem occurs when I use these while on a certain page. For example TIVO. After pressing M3 to turn surround back on, I end on the AUDIO page since surround is controlled by AUDIO. I would like to return to original page when the macro started but I have determined how to do this.

I currently have it end at MAIN since it is predictable but it is a hassle to select the original page again (TIVO).

Has anyone figured-out a good solution to this or is it just not possible? I didn't find the answer in the lovely manual or my search forums or via Google.

TIA,

Noel

I was wondering how to return to the original (or a specific) screen myself.

I'm by no means an expert on the MX-500, but he only way I've found is, at the end of the macro, to execute a harmless command from the component you want to return the LCD screen to.

This also seems to be necessary when powering ON a series of components as well. Make the last component you power on the one whose LCD screen you want displayed on the MX-500.

I'm also wondering if this is the best/only way to do this?

Ok, I found (my) answer.

To return to a specific screen after a macro, just have that device page active before ending the macro recording with the CH-UP button. (i.e. at the end of the macro, put the remote back to the Cable page, then press the CH-UP button)

But, for the OP's question, to return to the "original" screen (which could be any screen) from which you launched the macro....that's not possible as far as I can tell.
