I have a used MX-1000 that I love, but my wife needs more buttons. Totally complete, in excellent shape and original box, with all software, documentation and a disk with all of the buttons I have created and/or collected. Will sell for $175, or trade for MX-500 in good shape.

If you are willing to trade this MX-1000 for a MX-500
then will you sell it for the cost of a MX-500?
Ebay sells the MX-500 for $120, so if I buy one for that, you'll trade me? Are will you sell your MX-1000 for $125?

I will trade the MX-1000 for an MX-500, but I will not sell it for $125, since I am not guarenteed that I will get an MX-500 from eBay for $125 (although it seems likely).
