I am looking to program Niles MSU & intellicontrol remote. I wonder if both "intellifile PC interface" and "intellicontrol programmer" are required ? What do you have for sale? PM me. Thanks.

You will need the program as well. The program is only available to authorized Niles dealers.

Greg, By program you mean "Intellicontrol Programmer" ? I just bought Intellicontrol Programmer on ebay. So now I have MSU, Table Top remote and Programmer. What else do I need? Programmer that I bought comes with cables and is the original Yellow box. I read somewhere that yellow "Programmer" do not require software or computer. I wonder how do they program this Yellow box thing without computer. Does anybody know if I would be able to connect "Intellicontrol Programmer" to my computer using serial cable and use "Intellifile II" software to program. What am I missing.

The yellow box is the old original but worked good. you need the software, the intellifile 2 programmer and a computer to configure your project.
I have 4 complete systems for sale....interested?
good luck and yes you need to be a Niles certified programmer to receive any Tech support.

What is your asking price for one complete system?

I'm interested as well. I also bought a programmer on ebay. I have 2 MSU's and remotes. I have the original Intellifile PC interface, and would really like the Intellifile 2 PC interface which provides more functionality. I have already downloaded the PC software from Niles site.

ohmygawd, Did you buy the yellow version of the IntelliControl Programmer. My understanding is that you don't need the intelifile PC interface as yellow box will do programming without software/computer. Have you tried to program with intellifile PC interface? I guess PC interface would allow convenient interface to program via software compared to programming via yellow box "Programmer". I am also in the market for a PC interface. Anyone have one?

You do not need any additional software with the original Intellicontrol programmer. You do need software if you are using the newer Intellifile II programmer and will need to connect it through your computer.
However, note that the Intellifile II programmer came in two models. Model FG00796 works with the Intellicontrol MSU, model FG00784 does not unless it has the FG00784 addon module.

Yes, I have the yellow programmer. And I can program using it without software, but, it's tedious. If I had the Intellifile II, I could easily learn the IR directly into a PC. The software on the PC is very simple to use.
Maybe I'm just too lazy. LOL

Does anyone have the Programmer manual? The pdf available on Niles website is missing pages 54-62 which cover installation and programming procedure.

Just got shut out of an ebay auction for the Niles Intellifile 2 PC interface. I have the remote & MSU, originally installed in 1998, and Niles is sending me a new elastomer. I need the Intellifile 2 PC interface to add new components. Does anyone have this unit available for sale? From a previous post: "note that the Intellifile II programmer came in two models. Model FG00796 works with the Intellicontrol MSU, model FG00784 does not unless it has the FG00784 addon module" - please specify which model you may have available for sale. Thank you.
