Just took out my old trusty mx-700 for my kid's room and found the back cover so tacky and sticky it's unuseable! Any solution? Anyone want to get rid of an old back cover? Thanks Barry

Heh, I was thinking this is one part I still have laying around... except that it's tacky. :-)

You shouldn't be limited to just backs of mx-700's, mx500, 600, 800, and so on should work as well.

The old "sweaty rubber" syndrome. I have tried every household remedy I could think of, goop-off, mild soap, citrics, baby wipes, you name it. I have not been able to recover the finish at all. So I just use the 700 as a code learner on occasion.

one more try-- anyone have a back cover to spare ( and that isn't already tacky?)

How about an MX-450 for the kids? Give me call/email if you want one - I have 3 sitting here.

Why don't you send me an email and let me know what's going on with your DVD Changer? The problem with those changes is that your not always going to have the same timing every time you press the same exact command. A lot of variables come into play:
1) Location of changer at the current moment 2) What the changer is doing when you initiated the command 3) How many discs you have in the changer 4) Age of the changer 5) RF gain 6) Interference or emitter placement
Sometimes you have to sacrifice speed for accuracy...

Just a caution that some OLD MX-500 backs won't work, as they won't have the serial port bump. However this is only an issue with units built before the MX-700 came out.
