Was it originally bought through an authorized dealer?

How old is it?

The remote and RF flasher were originally purchased thru BlueDo about two years ago....however it has not been used for over a year as I switched to the Harmony. Still have original packaging for the remote.

Do you still have the BlueDo receipt?

Is the serial # still on the remote? Because of URC's new policy you must register the product for the software. Can it be registered again? Or do you have a copy of the software to include?

OK........ I was able to get the latest URC SW downloaded and will include a copy of the "MX_800setup.exe "program with the remote (CD). I'll be glad to mail a copy of the SW so you can confirm it will run on your computer.......

I would love some help with this problem. I had my HT installed 3 years ago and the installer is out of business. At the time I downloaded the software. I just recently added a new receiver and would like to update the remote control. The software will not update and they "hid" the new versions. I'm livid. I don't want to call a new installer to change a few buttons on my remote...Any suggestions on how to fix this? I'm about to go put a blog in as many places as I can slamming HTM for selling products and cutting off support. I understand what they are trying to do by segmenting the market BUT when it results in so many upset customers this process may backfire.....

What's worse, I just sat down to set this up for the holiday weekend and no-one is open to get help from...

HELP!!

There's extensive discussion on this topic in the rc-master forum.

You can get the software, perhaps even on this holiday weekend. The last paragraph on URC's new pro overview page has a link taking you to a registration page. Fill out the information, put in the S/N of your remote and you should be able to download the most recent, yet not inherently updatable, version of the software.

Since your previous installer is now out of business, URC's support may be able to set you up with a new authorized dealer to get the updatable version. But the non-updatable version should get you back up and running this weekend.

yes... I was able to registier the remote using a correct serial number (usually found in the battery compartment of the remote) and download the newest SW for the MX-800.

If there is no serial number, or the serial number is not accepted by the registration page then URC will send you a new serial number by return email if you explain the situation to them (but it does take about a week or two for them to respond).

good luck.

I originally purchased(11/2003) thru BlueDo the MX-800. I am also not able to download the SW from the URC site using the Serial # of the remote. Can you Email the "MX_800setup.exe " program.

Check out the sticky and "monster" thread in the URC forum. Do you have the serial number? If so, then just register it, and there you go.
