I have invented a new idea for a remote control and is in the patent process. Don't think of me as a big shot. I'm just a small fish. More like an anchovy on a stale piece of pizza. Anyway, I have an idea I would like to present to an after market maker of TV remote controls. My question is 1) who are the major manufactures of universal remote controls, and 2) any suggestions or thoughts on how I should present my idea. Sorry I can not disclose my idea. Any information is much appreciated.

There's Universal Electronics inc, maker of the one-for-all/radio shack unversal remotes. They're based in Ohio.

It would really depend what you are after. If you want to run with the idea, UEI and URC might be good choices because they make remotes for other people. If you want to make a quick buck and have a company buy the patent and idea, then find one of the companies that might be able to use the idea.

Hello. I might be able to help. I learned a good deal about manufacturing, since I used to work at URC.

I also know a couple of manufacturing plants who may be able to product the idea.

Depending on your goals, you can either manufacture and sell or try to license your patent to an existing manufaturer.

If you would like to discuss this further with me, you can reach me at: (914)509-5360.

Thank you,
Damon DG
