Does he have a price in mind?
I would be interested in the MC7100 and MC162 if the price is right
We are the people our parents warned us about

At this point, price is negotiable. He paid retail for them some years back but understands that he will only get percentage of what he paid. I honestly have no idea what a good price for these items is. I did some searching and it seems the price ranges from people wanting to get full retail, to people wanting to buy amps for almost nothing. All of them are in great shape, I can send pictures of anything in the list. I will bench test every one of them prior to shipping as well. At this point, make an offer.

Sell them on e-bay. Be prepaired to ship them overseas (Japan) you can and likely will get "good" money for them. If you don't sell on e-bay, get someone with good feedback to sell them for you, (it will cost you a few points). I sold a 1987 McIntosh cd player, and receiver and received over 1,000.00 US for both, plus shipping.
If you want help let me know. Good luck

So far no one has made any offers on this stuff and I admit that I am not very good with Ebay. We still have the lot if anyone is interested or if anyone could give me a hand with the e-bay part I would much appreciate it.

ebay is easy. email me at [email protected] if you want some help listing them. I agree with the above posters. Definitely sell it on ebay. Require buyer's pay actual shipping costs and that they use paypal. You can also limit to US buyers only.

Best,
jeff

I also have a pristine McIntosh piece, a MC7108,I refuse to put it on ebay. On this item they would have no clue what it's woth so I am not going to let the bottom feeders at it. I don't want to give it up but I have a lot of stuff and the wife is on my butsky to get it all out of the house, along with a lot of other goodies, anybody want's to have a great amp at a good deal, but not stolen from me, contact me at [email protected]. No bad shots at the e-bayers here, but "we" love steeling items at crazy prices. I do it myself once in a while myself. Any Takers ?
Thanks You,
Ted

When it comes to items like McIntosh and other high end gear ebay actually brings out alot of serious buyers. As I mentioned above I sold some Mac stuff a couple of years ago, both items went to Japan. But I got alot more than I would have guessed. I just recently sold some older Bryston gear, my client was thrilled with the amount I got ( about 1/2 of what he paid retail 10 years ago) A koetsu turntable cartridge, 600.00 (once again 10 years old). I have a good reputation on Ebay, although I have sold many different items I am known best for the electronics I occasionally get, and I seem to get top dollar because of that. So if your interested, you certainly can e-mail me, and I would be glad to help.
[email protected] thanks

To find out what this stuff should bring check out Audio Classics -- I think they are in Vestal, NY. In any case, they are a highly professional operation that concentrates on the restoration and sale of Macs.

Highly recommend them.
