I'm building a setup on my iPronto but it seems all the code files I need are in PCF format. I've combed this site for info on PCF's but about all I've found is that I need Pronto Edit Pro. So I installed it and imported the PCF, but now what? How do I get that info out where I can use it?

I found a file of discreet codes for my Sony TV - it's all text and I'm able to copy/past the lines into iProntoEdit and they work just fine. I'd like to do the same for my Motorola DTC6412 DVR and my Integra 7.6 receiver. I have both components in PCF's - how can I use them in anything other than Edit Pro?

The hex code formats for the iPronto and Prontos are the same. You can copy those codes directly from a pcf and paste them into your icf file.

Correct, but I think a misleading answer to the question.

You need to read the pcf file with ProntoProEdit or some similar program.

You need to navigate to each of the Pronto Hex strings you want in order to copy them into the program that edits the icf file.

The process varies a bit depending on the version of Pronto??Edit?? you're using.

Basically:

1) You navigate to the panel you want within the tree view (of devices and panels).
2) Open that panel. Double click doesn't work for me for that in some files and editor version, in which case you need to right click and pick the correct choice from the context menu to open the panel.
3) Double click the button within the panel.
4) Double click the Learned IR Code within the button's action list.
5) Depending on editor version, you might need to click a button to view the IR code.
6) If there is a scroll bar on the IR code field, right click / selectAll to make sure you get the whole thing rather than drag select. People often accidentally get just part of the Pronto Hex using drag select when it is big enough to need a scroll bar.
