Hello all,

I have been a long time user of three versions of Philips remotes. How ever there are not many options for themes on the iPronto. So I have been working on a new Scarface theme of my own (since it is my all time favorite). I have it done and am just wrapping up the links for the channel logo guide and DVD cover art to link to over 200 movies.

Once complete, if anyone has interest I can find out how to get it loaded to the FILE section of this site for all to enjoy.

(How come there were no contests for the iPronto themes? The theme winners for the previous pronto were great!)

My questions are:

1. Is it possible to take advantage of the two stereo speakers on this remote and load, wav or mp3 files as sound clips for when buttons are pressed? I could not find anything anywhere on this and it surely seams like a feature it should have!

2. I am able to get my wireless laptop to connect to the iPronto wirelessly and upload and downlaod files just fine. Aswell as update the firmware of the iPronto wirelessly. BUT, NO web pages will load and it always times out? Any ideas?

3. What the heck is the SD card slot for? I put in a card and it did nothing? Is this just future ideas philips has like the USB port?

Thanks all!

Micah

One more question,

4. I know I can disable the blue philips toolbar, but then I loose the learn feature. Can I just change the color of it? Or change the design?

Thanks.

If you disable the blue toolbar you can still learn. Us the menu options on the left side of the screen. One will let you select between Use and Learn.
The SD card is only for loading IPronto files. That way if you do not have WiFi you can still upload your config to the Ipronto. You can also back up your current Ipronto config there.
What web pages are you going too? There is limited amount of memory in the Ipronto to load pages. Big pages will not work anymore as well as many with plugins, special graphics etc.
I do not believe the stereo speakers work for anything but the standard Ipronto songs. It all part of the pack of lies Phillips included in this Remote.
There is an update to the web browser used in IPronto, but I see no way to actually update the Ipronto with it. At least you could keep browsing the web in the future.

Thanks for the info.

Dissapointed it can not use wav or mp3 as sound effects when clicking a button. I guess another dream feature that may never come out. Oh well despite all the complaints it is truely a great remote and my theme is turning out nicely!

Where can you access the "learn/use" toggle, with out the toolbar? I do not see it? That would be a great help.

I tried going to any web site? Google, google for palm phones (light), philips, etc. It just wont browse the web? Even with the latest firmware update. How ever it is connected to my network and interacts with my PC's to download and connected to philips to download the firmware update, but no web? Did you say there is a browser update out for it?

Thanks.

Do you have the Ipronto setup as a static or DCHP in your network? Double check your settings, ip address, DNS, etc. The browser used in the Ipronto has a newer version out. How it could ever get into the Ipronto is beyond me. I think I need some clarification. By toolbar, do you mean the one you edit on the screen, or the one that is present on the left side in a blue color?

By toolbar I mean, the blue one (nice if we could change the color as an option) on the whole left side of the remote touchscreen screen, I disabled it in IprontoEdit so as my design, theme would be the only thing on the whole screen (which looks great) how ever now I can not access Learn/Use functions from the remote, unless I re-load my configuration file with that turned back on. Any ideas?

As for the browser, I can live with what ever they give me as long as I could get it to connect to some web sites? I have the remote connected so I can download firmware from prontos site and to allow my wireless laptop to write to it, but the browser times out and does not load any web pages? Any ideas?

Huh, never got any feedback from anyone that may be interested in an ipronto Scarface theme. No Scarface fans out there? Guess I am the only one?

Thanks.
