I have a iPronto with Netx and when I execute a button on the touch screen the buttons seems to pause or hang up. It will release after a short period. I have installed the lastest firmware and edit software. I have read most of the threads and I guess I am hoping someone has already had this problem and came up with a solution on their on without the help of Philips.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sure. What you describe is "normal operation" :-)

(see my thread about this problem ....)

When the iPronto turned off (to save power) and you press a button or touch the screen it needs time to "wake up".
Wake up means, the iPronto needs to enable the WLAN connection to the WLAN access point again and that takes a few seconds.
So, turn on the iPronto e.g. touch the screen, shake it, whatever ... and the count to 5 and you can use it without hangs or pauses.

There is another problem with "freezing" buttons during normal operation - a reboot is then required. But that's a different problem.

Best regards,

Kalle

No, I think he's talking about a different problem again! (Buggy? iPronto? Never!) It's one that I posted about a while back. When you press a button, it stays "pressed" for 10-15 seconds or thereabouts. It doesn't seem to be sending any codes in that time, just the graphic locks on the "pressed" graphic. Whole remote stops responding for this time, then the button goes back to "unpressed" graphic and everything works normally.

There are 3 issues with sticking buttons.

1: Wake-up time from sleep mode is quite slow, meaning a delay before you can send any commands.

2: Sometimes buttons stick and send same code repeatedly (normally volume up in my case!) causing my amp to wind up to maximum volume, sending me diving across the room to turn it down manually.

3: The one I described above where remote locks up for 10-15 seconds without sending codes.

There may be more, but these are the ones I have regularly...

Hi Gosh,

I remember your thread about this sticking buttons. A half year ago I had the situation you described, I press volume up and nothing happen. Suddenly the Denon Amp received about 20 commands to volume up .... I understand your trouble!

But since then I never had this problem anymore. Only "problem" one - the wakeup makes my crazy.

The only change in my config was that I removed the hard buttons (volume up ......)

Maybe give it a try?

Best regards,

Kalle

About the problem with

"2: Sometimes buttons stick and send same code repeatedly (normally volume up in my case!) causing my amp to wind up to maximum volume, sending me diving across the room to turn it down manually"

I read a thread in the RTI theatertouch forum about their RTI T3. They have the same problem like you and me :-)

I think the solution is to put in delays of 0.1 seconds (or even a bit more) to solve this problem. You may noticed that iPronto Edit already build in delays when you install something new.

For me it seems that these delays are necessary somehow?!

But it's interesting that other remotes have the same problem .......

Best regards,

Kalle

I did the same thing and put in delays of .1 and then .2 seconds after each remote signal was sent. I then added .2 seconds before and after each signal, and it doesn't help. The remote just sticks and pumps the signal out.

That's interesting... Thanks for that, I may give that a try! Odd, but if it works, I may do it. I'd miss the hard buttons, but if it helps, then I may do it.

However, it is only an occasional problem. I haven't suffered withnumber 2 a lot, probably about 4 or 5 times in the last year. It's just very alarming when it happens!

I don't think it's the 0.1 delay, as I automatically put that in every time I program something. Always have done, I don't know why. Even on my old Pronto I did that!
