Is there a way to eliminate the wake up when pressing one of the hard buttons? I would like to be able to turn the volume up and down without waiting for the delay of the unit coming to life (I end up keeping my old iriq next to me as it will do this.)

I know. Annoying, isn't it! But sadly, you are stuck with it I'm afraid.

If you leave it plugged in all the time you can just turn off the auto shutdown.

Yes, but this is a poor solution, especially in a Home Cinema room, as the screen is bright and irritating in a darkened theatre.

Yep - that cannot be the solution for this problem. The iPronto seems to lost contact with the WLAN access point and needs some time to "find itself" or so ?!

After that time the problem vanishs.

Any guy here who has the same problem?

For Philips developer(s) (which read here sometimes):

The solution would be to turn of the display but not to cut down the connection to the access point! When I try to ping iPronto the device must be "online". If the iPronto falls asleep the ping to iPronto is lost. The device is also turned off in the access point's member list.

Philips, come on: It cannot be so complicated to fix a simple WLAN problem like this! There are other WLAN products in the big Philips company - ask a colleague to help you fix this (including WPA encryption).

Best regards,

Kalle

As I mentioned in a different thread, this would be unrealistic. The battery consumption for Wi-Fi communications is very high, and the battery would almost certainly only survive a few hours with a permanently live Wi-Fi connection. Just try web browsing for two hours with it to see what I mean.

@goshdarnit:

Okay, maybe you're right. However, if the power consumption of this WLAN logic is that high I daubt WLAN was the right decision from Philips for the NetX communication :-(((

That's pretty bad for me because I put all home cinema equipment into a dark corner and therefore I need the NetX functionality.

But, go back to YOUR problem:

I had the problem you menthioned only one time. After a hard reset it was gone!?

BTW: Is it possible to use the iPronto with IR and NetX simultaneously? With iPronto I can only choose either IR or NetX, not both.

Best regards,

Kalle

Hmmmm. Hard reset? You mean just using the button on the back? Or total system reset? I can't remember the combination for that off the top of my head, but I mean the one where you hold down a certain button while resetting. Channel + maybe? Can't remember, but is that the one you mean?
