Guys -

The slow motion feature of sky+ requires you to press and hold the play button on the standard sky+ remote..

On the same lines, I have just bought a remote dimmer/light switch for my living room. To dim the lights you need to press and hold one button on the supplied remote but I obviously want to control this with my Ipronto....

Is there any way of doing this with my Ipronto?

Cheers

On mine it just works. I have several devices which require holding of buttons.Volume for Plasma TV and also Sony receiver, dimmers for lighting panels and slowmo buttons on DVD and Tivo. All worked just by learning the codes and holding the buttons down. Both hard buttons and screen buttons...

The basic IR protocol used internally allows for constant emission of an IR pattern (repeated) as long as the button is held down. The iPronto allows for this. A long time ago I posted a paper (it is in the files section) that described all of this and the one time vs repeat sections of the pronto IR protocol.

You need to rerecord the button from your original remotes and ensure that you hold down the button on those remotes for as long as needed!

For mine, I just learned them from the remote, and used the shortest press of the button possible. I find that long presses don't seem to learn properly for me. Every one of them just auto-repeats with no problems. Dimmer controls, power switches, volume controls, all of them.
