I still see references to the iPronto such as:-

"Furthermore, iPronto features a built-in microphone and stereo speakers, enabling users to listen to MP3 files from the Internet, and can even be used as a web phone."

and other suggestions such as the mic being used for voice activation.

Are these really going to happen?

This is actually on the Philips site and was written in January this year

"The system features a built-in microphone and stereo speakers for use with future applications such as voice recognition, telephony and listening to MP3s from the Internet. The iPronto also includes USB connectivity and a MMC/SD card slot for future applications and accessories"

So I guess they have to do it, otherwise they could be liable from every iPronto owner. So maybe its just a matter of patiently waiting

I would bet there's some legal stuff on the site somewhere to get them out of anything like that. The lawyers would of made sure of that before the web site went live.

I'd suggest somebody make a copy of those pages before they change! :)

Well, I got a reply from Philips and they didn't say it wasn't going to happen or the website had errors....they said...

"Recently you have asked us when the The system features will be supported.

This is still in development. When this will be available then this will be announced on our website. Please keep checking our website regularly.

Our apologizes for this inconvenience.

We hope we answered your question satisfactorily."

Of course, the phrase "such as" is the giveaway... Means "for example" and doesn't tie them down to anything.....

Hi! I wouldn't bet on it. The ipronto has been around for quite some time, and I doubt if the company knows how to capitalise on a revolutionairy upgrade of a mature product especially with existing owners. T
