Hi folks -- Checking to see if anyone else has had this problem. In the past two weeks, the IR signals from the iPronto are sticking at times. The first time this happened, the volume + button stuck and volume just kept getting louder and louder. Then a few days later, the channel + key stuck. But this time, the channels wouldn't change (the button seemed to work - the little IR icon at the upper left of the iPronto would "depress" when I hit the channel button, but no channel change. Then, a few minutes later, all of a sudden, the channels on the tuner clicked through their sequences in short order. Tonight, same problem, but now seems more persistent. In these last two instances, I've reset the iPronto. But, this is obviously getting ridiculous. So, thought I'd post here to see if anyone else has had similar experience. Oh, by the way, I'm on release 1.5 (after reading about all the problems with 1.6 and since, at that time, I didn't have any problems, I figured "why upgrade."

I'm using the latest firmware and NetX and having "sticking" problems as well as "waking" problems. Every couple of days, ipronto won't wake up and I have to do a reboot.

I have a similar problem started a couple of days ago after downloading the newest firmware and software. I thought it was due to changing from a B to a G router but after reading this thread it seems it may be down to the new firmware. My problem is that when depressing a button for a device conrolled by my Netx's the remote icon topleft of screen shows that the Ipronto is sending a signal for up to 10 seconds, upon checking the Netx the light on top is permanently green so sending a signal to my devices. This is then followed by a period where nothing works and then suddenly all is fine again.
Can anybody help me, I have 2 Ipronto's and 2 NetX all of which are affected.

I'm not using the latest firmware (I'd read too many threads about problems with it, so I've not yet downloaded it). I did cycle/reset my Motorola DCT5100 HDTV box and it seems the problem has at least subsided if not gone away entirely. I'll post an update later this week as I use the unit more.

Just an update. Continued to have this "sticking" problem on changing channels -- it would recur every few days. Went to other forums (Motorola and Comcast) to see if anyone had such problems and was blaming the Motorola receiver. Didn't get much there. So, dug up the old Comcast remote that came with the Motorola DCT5100 digital receiver. All seemed fine. So, I had iPronto "relearn" the channel +/- codes and then went ahead and uploaded this to my laptop, saved it, and downloaded it back to the iPronto. At first try, seems much faster/crisper on the change. It's been at least six months since I'd downloaded an ICF, so maybe things were just getting gummed up in there?? Sounds odd, but then it's Philips' iPronto. I'll post again in a week or so.

I have had this problem since day one of using the iPronto (a year ago). Whilst not a particularly elegant solution I have solved this by purchasing an additional wireless access point and putting the NetX and iPronto on different access points. As I say, not exactly fixing the problem but as a workaround I have had not problems of locking up since. No idea why this works before you ask!!!
