Hello,
Philips brought a new Upgrade 1.7.4 out. One can program the hardware keys separately now.

It is available also at

http://www.pronto.philips.com/

What's new in iProntoEdit 2.4.3?

You can now program the hard buttons for every device separately.

The "CTRL" + "ALT" drag function to copy bitmaps, will copy the bitmaps to the button selected by the top left corner of the source.

Support for the new ICF format 3.1.

Brilliant News

Upgrade went smoothly, and didn't even have to restore my configuration.

Hopefully some further updates will trickle through now at a rapid rate. Better small regular enhancements than a 6-month-plus wait for a major revision.

LOL - Installed the firmware upgrade last night, iPronto rebooted, then ended up with a display saying that my configuration file had been corrupted and to reload it ...

...so I did...

...and my iPronto said...

"Processing Configuration File"

...then...

"Can't find configuration file, please reload using iProntoEdit"

...so I did...

...and my iPronto said...

"Processing Configuration File"

...then...

(You get the idea? ;-) )

Anyway - I had to cull out some pages from my ICF file before the iPronto was happy to take my file. Haven't had time to try to work out what it was about those pages that made the iPronto barf though...

Many thanks iProntoTeam!!

The update went smoothly, and since upgrading the issue of my iPronto not waking up seem's to be resolved.

The re-programming of the hard buttons is a nice new feature, cheers for implementing it.

I must admit I was waiting for the sleep function to be removed, but you wiped the smug grin from my face, thanks for that!!!!

Ok, the hard-buttons are great (but should have been there from day one). But is this all that is new in this release? Is this really all the Philips team has improved in 4 months? With this development rate, the iPronto will become a really great remote around 2007.

I ran into the same problem after installing the new software and updating the hard keys... I had changed channel + & - to browse forward, backward on some devices with the editor... Got the same page you got... When I went back in and removed those from the hard keys I was fine... It did freak me out though for a heartbeat.

Phew! Had me worried there Phil! But (hope it doen't sound like gloating) my upgrade went with no problems. It has made my iPronto run almost exactly as I need it. The other things I've mentioned before would be nice to see implemented, particularly a jump to EPG. I just find those unmarked buttons down the side really clumsy and awkward. You shouldn't have to press a button in order to see what it does. But this is the biggest step that was needed. I love it! My icf is almost done, and I am very happy with it all.

Thanks again Philips. You listened to us.

Apparently it was due to my ICF file still being developed and some of the pages having unresolved links (?!?!?) - that's what the guys at Philips tell me anyway.

I also had trouble getting my file to download after updating the firmware. After deleting stuff and using what I learned from this thread, I found the culprit. It was the devices I had with no pages in them. I have my iPronto set up for 3 rooms in my house and I divided these rooms with "-----------------" so I could see them better in my editing tree on the left side. Once I removed these it downloaded with no problem. Not sure why this caused the problem.

Yeah - I had a few devices that were just placeholders so that must be what they were meaning.
