I've just read thru these forums and gather that the ipronto can't transmit RF UHF remote codes. It is somewhat of a mystery, since in iprontoedit you can set a device to be either RF or IR in its properties.

I really need to solve this problem - does anyone have any suggestions about what to do with a UHF only remote? How can I integrate it into the rest of the ipronto control system? Is there an IR to RF mapper like the RF to IR ones? Any other ideas?

I have a client with a nice plasma home theatre and everything is IR except the Dish DVR921. It is an awesome box - the picture is great in SD and HD, but it is UHF only.

HELP!

This is the one question that comes up time after time.

The RF functionality on the iPronto is *ONLY* intended for communication with the NetXtender units where the RF is then converted back into IR. Similarly with the RU950/RU970/RU980 and the LI900 RF base.

Cheers

What is the FCC ID number on the UHF remote?

The IR version in the file section works for this receiver. Both the 921 and the 811 come with a uhf only remote but have an IR sensor on the front that accepts the standard dish codes.
