Hi guys! Just got a new IPronto and this is my first time on this forum so please be patient!
I don't have broadband connection, just dialup. what equipment will I need to work with dialup? I read on the forum about various equip not working well with the IPronto so maybe you could recommend some "tried and proven" equipment that will save me some headaches.
What is the USB connection for if it can't be used for downloading?
I don't have any kind of network now.
Thanks very much!

Joe

I have dial up too, I use the analogx proxy server and put the appropriate settings in the proxy box.

Of course you need to be connected for the web browser, but there may be an issue with the epg update. It appears to automatically set a time for update which I found is early morning, usually I am not connected so manual update of the epg is needed.

(You have a wi-fi network I assume ?)

No use for the USB as yet as far as i know - future !

Thanks for the reply Andrew! I don't have any kind of network and am computer illiterate. Could you be very specific on exactly what I will need in equipment (everything except the computer!) Thanks again!

OK well I am no expert but....

To get any real use from the ipronto you need a WAP (wireless access point). I have a Netgear MR814v2 which seems OK. mine is a router and WAP in one, which when we finally get broadband I can share this net connection with my ipronto's and other PC's, without the need to power up my main computer.

In my case the MR814v2 plugs into my ethernet port on my PC.

Some WAP's do not work with the ipronto so my suggestion as first step is go to your local computer store with your ipronto and see which one works before you buy....
