I'm new to this ipronto thing and I'm learning as I go, but I don't understand what macro's are? What I think they are are sequences of ir codes, am I correct or No?
Thanks Michael

yes.
let's say you want to watch a movie, and to do so you need to turn on the TV, the receiver, and the DVD player, then you switch the input on the receiver to the DVD and the TV to the DVD as well and finally you press play on the DVD player.
with a iPronto (or any remote that can do macros like this) you add one button on the display (let's call it "watch DVD") and put all those steps on the button. So now when you press watch DVD you are ready to enjoy the movie. You could add some other stuff then IR codes such as delays because the TV takes 1 min before you can change input. Or add some beeps so that the user knows what is happening.
Other important macros are favourite channel numbers. Press the icon of channel 123 and the remote ends 1 followed by 2 and then 3 (and if you need it an enter) and at one press you are on channel 123
