A client bought two iProntos over six months ago for a very upscale spec house. So far they have not been programmed.

I have programmed Prontoids up through the TSU6000 and the Marantz 5200, Crestron STS, Lexicon remotes....

Given the age of the units and the updates that might be available now, am I in danger of losing installation money, or costing my client WAY TOO MUCH, if I try to install a program in these iProntos?

Right now I have two identical TSU6000s controlling tons of stuff in the house, including Xantech switches, routers and remote volume controls, two separate systems, two plasmas in one room...will that program likely transfer neatly to the iPronto? I foresee that graphics will want to be very different because they can be, but how bad a job will it be?

I have asked on this site for someone who knows how to program these to offer their services, with no bites. Does that indicate that programming these is a losing proposition?

For what it's worth, both will run the same program, and neither needs to connect to the internet.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

the biggest difference is that iPE does not have an emulator. The software is a bit different, but it is mostly the same. iPE can also import CCFs, but the screen is totally different, so you would probably need some rearranging

Do you mean that my artwork would appear panel by panel as it was on the 6000 and I simply have to copy or cut and paste?

Yes your artwork would appear panel by panel. You could just cut and paste to rearrange. I had one issue with IR code transfer from my ccf's to the ipronto, but it may have been a fluke. It was easily fixed by cut and paste between the old pronto running prontoedit and the new iprontoedit. A pain in the butt in my case, but nothing significant.

I think the issue of no helpers is the time obligation. See me in 2005 after I retire and I may be available to consult and program.

Download the software and try and import your data. Right away you'll see exactly what it will look like on iProntos screen.

Thanks for the advice.

The reason I so want to just transfer the program is that the house has a downstairs system with two plasmas, one on top of the other, the upper one used only with headphones, nine rooms of second zone controlled by Xantech volume controls, an upstairs system that supplies audio to part of the second zone...in all I have had to create thirty devices to control and keep things straight on the 6000.

May I be the latest to say, it is really annoying that the Pronto does not have a BACKWARD function! I have found six or seven reasons to junk the 6000 in favor of a 9200 or spend more of the customer's money programming! They want to spend the money on the programming!
