I am thinking about buying an iPronto, but I do not know what all the extra's are that I would need to get it up and running?

Can someone please let me know how they got theirs to work and also a few tips on how to get it running at peak performance?

Thanks in advance,
MAX

Max,

I strongly advise you to read the information at
[Link: pronto.philips.com]

I use a Wireless Lan with access-point (f.i. 3Com access point 8000, http://www.3com.com/)

Pretty straight forward.
1)DSL or cable Internet line. Can be done with modem but a pain).
2)802,11b or g wireless router. Again can be done with a simple access point but a pain. Recommend Linksys.
3)iPronto :)
4)ipronto edit :)
5)Latest updates from philips.
6) RF extender module if you need RF.
Thats it! If you have used Prontos before the rest is pretty straight forward.

Didn't I just see a thread stating that the RF Extender does not work with the iPronto, only netx can be used? Since I have not jumped in to programming two that a client purchased, I am totally ignorant on this but want to be up to date.

Also, is it required to have the internet? I want to take a working TSU6000 program and have it also work in the house from the iProntos. There is no further need for the talent inherent in the device -- just to control a system that is already being controlled by a rather extensive ccf.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

That is basically what I have done. i do not use NetX, I do not use the EPG. I have zero problems I have transferred the "same" ccf from a TSU1000 to a TSU6000 to the TSI6000 with no significant problems. The iPronto is nice from a download because of the wi-fi interface. Runor has it that eventually the iPronto or a follow on (better not be the case) will allow for TCP/IP or UDP communications in addition to IR and RF using Wi-Fi and being able to assign the strings to be communicated to buttons on the RC panel.. Now that is what I want. It could then even be too way.

Ernie, he means the NetX. It is an RF base that uses the 2.4 GHz RF frequency
