Group,
Thinking about getting the ipronto as upgrade already have the RU940 and very very pleased with it.

Are there any major issues with the unit I should be concerned about ?

I am in the UK and am thinking of importing a unit considering the current exchange rate.

This looks good and they ship to the UK...

This one better (recon unit) if they ship other than in the US (probably not)

Anyone any views on these two companies and any issues using a US unit in the UK (Already have a transformer and 110 V dist board )

Many thanks in advance.

First Question -

I have had mine for 9 months and have had very few issues - it appears that Philips has fixed most of the issues you might read about on this site. I like mine very much and am glad I purchased.

I will echo Anthony's remark in the prev post - BlueDo has a very good rep - know nothing about the other.

I am in the UK as well. All I can say is I am glad I purchased in the UK my unit was faulty out of the box! I had no problem returning the unit and obtaining a refund. What is the score should you be as unfortunate as myself, regarding repairs/refunds and shipping costs?

Thanks for the replies,

Chris could I ask where you got yours from ?

Letsautomate have them but expensive compared to the dollar price. I make their price 2160.00 US$ compared to 1328.00US$of bluedo. I like letsautomate and have used them before but thats a big difference.

Even if I assume I get stung for VAT I estimate I am better of by 500 US$

Heres the letsautomate offering ;

The other interesting thing about the UK price is that letsautomate are actually discounting it.
The UK 'suggested' price is £1699(UKP).

If you import one you will normally be liable for shipping costs if a fault occurs, but even with that it's still worthwhile considering import.

You could also consider Germany, I have'nt checked but their internet prices are often 30% less than UK internet.

Yes I purchased from LetsAutomate. Excellent service, and of course you get 30 days to prove out the kit and return it if you feel it's not up to scratch. (instead of the usual 7 day distance purchasing stuff we have here in the UK.)

I got mine from www.electicnations.com Very quick on replies on email.Quick before ordering, and quick after.Got a refurbished/renewed iPronto for 950 US$ I can't see that it has been used. Not even a fingerprint on it.They only send to adresses within USA,but there are forwarding agents in US for other countries. So no problems.
