From the help manual:

Define the Device Settings

1. Select the device in the tree view.
2. Display the Properties.
3. Select the Settings tab in the Device Properties.
4. Select the Type of device from the dropdown list.
5. Select the brand of your device from dropdown list.
6. Select code set of your device from dropdown list.

Philips: What I'd like to know is "How do I know what code-set my device uses?"

I have a Samsung LCD TV - there are TWENTY different code sets to chosse from. How do I know which codeset my TV uses? Without knowing this, the built-in database is virtually useless, since I have to resort to "learning" the remote instead.

Come on Philips - you can do better than this in a £1200 product......

It's not completely useless. By browsing through the various different options for my plasma, I found working discreet IR codes for all the AUX inputs. It doesn't take too long to learn all the buttons manually anyway.

i agree, learning is very quick.

this rather proves my thesis, that the built-in database is useless.
