I recently purchased my iPronto and am going through the learning curve programming this to work. I tried to learn and select x-10 commands enabling RF. No luck...do I need an extender, or do I need to purchase different x-10 modules and controller?

You need to purchase a Net-x extender fo the iPronto - which actually links with the iPronto thru your wireless network.

unfortunately x-10 itself is the problem :(
That stuff never works as promised.
As a professional...we never use it because we can't stand behind it's reliability.

Thanks Kees...I read your reply to a similar (or exact) type question. At that point I checked out marmitek. What modules and controller would you recommend, and do you need to use an extender.

Scully,
This is the stuff I've bought from Marmitek (via www.intellihome.be (or www.letsautomate.com if you are in the UK):

1x IH3080/IR7243: Mini-Controller (picks up IR from iPronto and changes it to Marmitek X-10 signals).
1x IH3010: Computer Interface
6x IH4020A/LW11 Walldimmers
12x IH1210/LM12: Plug-In Lampmodule + dim

All in use without an extender.
Succes,
Kees
