Anybody had success with the NetX extender?

Mine keeps locking up with the led going green (which according to the instructions means it is sending out ir)

I have tried locating the extender in several locations to see if there is any interferance but nothing seems to be helping. Quite frustrating as if you leave it 5 minutes it will again work ok for a few key presses and then lock up again.

Any suggestions would be welcome!!

ps: If the Pronto team is reading this thread then howabout replying to support emails??? I have sent you 3 mails about this and had no response - for almost two thousand pounds of kit i've just bought i'd thought you'd be a bit more interested in supporting it...

I have multiple NetX extenders and PRO RF extenders these are stacked on-top of each other in each location. The reason I mention this is because I can get both unit types to lock-up or not. What I mean by that is moving the "stack" causes problems with both the PRO RF and the NetX unit at the same time. My problems are down to interference from other kit such as "hands free" telephones ironically the phones are the Philips DEC units!! not sure if this helps in your case though.

I forgot to mention that "dirty" learned IR codes causes the same response ie: green light no reaction from the kit. I have just had this occur on me again, doing continous uploading/downloding of the icf file.

I am also very disappointed with the NetX.
I have tried many things to make it work reliably.

The two main problems I have come across.

1. Initial wireless communications takes several seconds(this seems to occur if a button has not been pressed for more that say 15 seconds)to be established, usually causing one or more IR functions to fail.

2. Simply fails to send.

I work in the custom install business and was hoping this product would fit between Pronto NG and AMX.

At present I could not possibly demonstrate it as a Remote Control.

Note: I read this forum everyday, have read both manuals and tried almost everything I know to make this work.

thanks for the comments, glad i'm not alone!!

I have managed to solve the issue in the most bizarre way...

I currently use a draytek vigor2600g adsl/wifi router. I have read on the draytek forum of a few people suffering with other wifi connected kit. To this end I invested in a second wireless hub to replace the built-in draytek wifi. Both the netx and ipronto conencted up to the new hub and initially, the iPronto cerytainly seemed to be able to access the web much quicker so suggested that the new linksys hub was more performant. However, it could not see the NetX!! After restarting, changing ip's and everything else i could think of i decided as a last thought to connect the NetX via the draytek wireless connection and the iPronto itself via the linksys hub.

Incredibly it has been 100% reliable ever since!!

Not sure the message here but looking at the number of wifi related problems here I think it is pretty safe to say that wifi is not quite ready to replace good old cable yet!!!

Glad to here that you are away.
The thread with which WiFi router units appear to perform and those that don't seems like a good idea for potential customers/users of this equipment!

Mine is the US Robotics USR8054 running g & b ok
