I am interested in buying an iPronto. In fact, I really want to get one, but I keep reading about bugs and complaints. Most of them sound pretty serious.
Is there anyone out there that could honestly say that they are 100% satisfied with the product? OK, maybe 100% is asking too much, how about 85% happy with the device. I am trying hard to justify getting one, but can't if it's not going to work.
Your honest feedback and opinions are appreciated.

Maybe I'm not the one you're targeting with this question, but I cannot advise you strongly enough to AVOID THIS THING LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!

Just trust me, keep your money and your sanity and abandon any ideas of buying one of these! This forum is full of reason why. Read up, move on!

I think I would fall into your 85% area.

It has not been perfect - but overall I do not regret buying my iPronto.

I would fall into the 85% area. Something I found very interesting is that once I started leaving the I-pronto continuously plugged in I no longer have any of the problems I was having before. When I would unplug it to use it then plug it back in overnight it would take hours to process the config file every morning. I would lose sound. After about a week to two weeks I would have to force an update to get it working again.
Now, leaving plugged in all the time its like its a totally different remote. Yes, the bugs are still there but I think running off battery power has something to do with it. Hopefully, philips will fix the major bugs soon. It's been awhile since the last update.

Appart from the bug of leaving it pluged all night so thet is can Download EPG (which I do not use nor have in our Middle east region) and you cannot cancel EPG downloading by the way (till now i haven't a clue)
this Remote is the most cheapest if you compare to CMX or crest I think,
Can't live with 12 remotes
My parents cannot use those 12 remotes to watch something
My kids niether
If anyone has a better solution
Please poet it

OOOH Boy Here we go on the iPronto trash roller coaster again, I am, as about half of the users here around 85% happy with my unit, Leaving it plugged in is the best although I can unplug it ,use it and plug it back in and no problems. The unit does some strange things once in a while like lock up or the sound quits but mine always recovers quickly with the reset button and this only happens about once a month so no biggie. I have learned that when my 10 yr old "Plays" with the net browser that issues arise, I am not sure why but the browser is slow and when impatient people start tapping all over the place without letting pages fully load it creates problems. I have wrestled with my decision about buying this unit and have even thought about getting the 7000 instead but I always come back to the realization that I am not willing to part with the epg, or the large screen, so in a nutshell I would replace my iPronto with another iPronto. As far as reccomending iPronto to someone that has never had one yet, hmmmm, regretfully I must say wait for the next generation iPpront if there ever is one.
