Which way is yours set up ??? If the Ipronto is set up and goes out of the wireless networks range, will it automaticaly log back into the network when it gets signal again? or do you have to do it by getting back in the setup menus network tab??

Im still having problems every day when i get up (7am) the Ipronto internet will not work and the signal bar shows 0 , even though my laptop still shows good signal. I have all my componets set up with use of the NetX, and when that happens my whole remote is useless, since no network talk to the NetX. Is my Ipronto defective .... i searched and have read alot of other problems but none like this ....any thoughts?

Do you have any idea what happens during the night?
I noticed that iPronto jumps from DHCP to fixed ip when it looses it's connection with the WAP. After this it will not automatically jump back to DHCP.

A workaround would be to connect your iPronto and NetX to the WAP with a fixed ip address.

Grtz,

Ron

Ron,

How do you do this? I just got my iPronto, and it will not get thru it initial download. It seems to find my WAP, but can't get an ip address that's workable. It looks correct, but seems to hang up at the end. My router is set to dhcp, and works fine with my laptop. I am not using NetX.

I fiddle around with the settings, and now I'm in a doom loop of blue screens and the Manual Configuration Screen showing Wireless/Internet/Restore/Resume.

When I edit my ssid to match my WAP, I resume and get the following message:

"The required data could not be downloaded from the device update server. COULDN'T LOOK UP HOST BOOT.PRONTO.PHILLIPS.COM (Caps indicative of red letters on screen.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jeff

im still having problems with mine too ... i even got a friends ipronto and brought it over to the house to do some testing. I was hoping to D/L my config into his remote but he is running V1.3 and my 1.5.6 wont load into his so i thought i would update the firmware - and all day yesterday and today to i get the same - cant find boot. error --- My ipronto still drops off the network after 4-5 hrs and after 8 hrs or so the access point locks up --until i reboot the acess point . if I pull the battery on the ipronto my access point stays up and works great ..hmmmm anyway i was reading about all the problems solved my reinstalling the firmware and i cant get it to do that either. I get the same boot. error on both, even though my laptop still works on the network and both prontos can search the web too ...i have tried fixed and DHCP settings doesnt matter.

Is prontos website or server down >??

when i look at the boot.pronto.philips.com address with my internet explorer it simply says "boot test"

i cant decide , WTF ?

got any suggestion, or can anyone else out there force a D/L this weekend or is it just us.

I find the forced d/l is a catch-as-catch-can deal. Sometimes it will take me literally days to hit the right Internet opening and make connection and download. Other times, it is relatively painless. I've changed from DHCP to fixed and back so many times that I can't keep track of which, if either, works best (I think its worked both ways). Who knows, maybe Philips has one dinky server trying to wait on all of us.

As for the access point freezing up, I've finally gotten rid of that problem -- at least for the last eight days. Eight days ago I replaced the Philips wireless card with an old SohoWare CableFREE II card I'd had around (my wireless router is a Netblaster II and I'd had the CableFREE II cards for other laptops in the house). Ever since, there have been NO down times with the router. Also, EPG downloads now regularly occur early AM (since everything's always connected to the Internet) and the ICF reconfiguration takes no more than 30 minutes and usually 5 or 10 minutes (compared to the 3 hours it used to take). Then again, maybe in another week things will have degraded back to nearly worthless. BTW, at one point this past week I uploaded my ICF and re-downloaded it to iPronto. Maybe that also helped clear up something?? Too bad that the possibilities are nearly endless.

TAAVS: Are your browsers working? I found out mine are while I was bouncing it off the wall, so it's seeing the network. I still can't get EPG or iPronto page to load. Now I'm really confused to where the problem is....
