Subject may not be an accurate representation -- but ever since I've gotten the ipronto (in September), I have intermittent router dropouts. The "red" collision light flashes and all devices on the wireless network no longer have access to the Internet. Broadband cable service (Toshiba modem) to Soho NetBlaster II wireless router. I have fooled with network and wireless settings to no avail. So, about once, maybe twice a day, we've got to power down the whole arrangement, power back up and we're back online for another 8 to 12 hours. I know this could be a much different problem than the ipronto, but funny how it's only been an issue since hooking up the ipronto. Since I'm not tech-savvy, thought maybe one of you have had this problem and know of an easy fix (or at least know what causes this). Thanks for any help.

thats funny , i got mine hooked up three days ago, with a netX. I am still hooking everything up, but every morning as I start to work, my wireless network doesnt work until i reboot the access points. I wish the wirless network was in place before i set the pronto up , so i would have some time to see its reliability to know where the problem is- network or pronto based.

I have been working on it this morning and now as im typing this the pronto shows no signal in the network tab , yet my wireless notebook works. that means its with the pronto right? maybe ill reboot the pronto- nope still no signal - laptop still shows excellent strength---hmmmmm any other thoughts??

my wife's been telling me all along that it's the ipronto and not the network, but I wouldn't believe it. So, for the last three months, i've been changing the wifi channel settings on the cards in our computers or resetting the NetBlaster II wireless hub. Today, after posting my dilemma here, I decided to take out the Philips network card and install one of the SohoWare CableFREE II cards that came with the NetBlaster II hub. No problems yet, but its only been a few hours.

You're right -- this typically is an issue in the AM. At breakfast I check the connection and many times it is down (red light on the NetBlaster II hub) AND that means the EPG didn't automatically update overnight.

It's been 36 hours with the SohoWare CableFREE II wireless card in the iPronto instead of the Philips card that comes with the iPronto. No loss of Internet connection yet!

what do you think about interference from a 2.4 gig phone interupting the wireless network causing it not to work until the access point is rebooted???

Is that a possibility>? mine still goes down......hmmm

Everything's fair game. We've got a 2.4 gig phone, but base station is upstairs (wireless modem and ipronto are downstairs). I haven't seen any pattern between phone use and outages (and there are times when I use the phone at/near the ipronto). BTW, it's been a week since I removed the Philips wireless network card and replaced it with an old SohoWare CableFREE II card I'd had from a previous laptop. Since then, NO outages at all AND my EPG is now running early enough in the AM that it's done by the time I'm awake AND the reboot on the EPG config file takes about 5 minutes instead of 3 hours.

Are you sure you've purchased enough IPs through your cable provider? When I got the ipronto, we only had 3 IPs, and the iPronto wouldn't connect at all unless I had one of our other computers off the network. I had to pay another 9.95/month to get a fourth IP (Comcast broadband here). I don't have a netX setup yet (I like the concept though) and I don't know if that also requires an extra IP or if that just works over the home network.
