Has anyone heard of any new software releases for the iPronto yet, It has been since September and with all the complaints out there it seems as if Philips would be fixing some of these bugs. Possibly they are too wrapped up in getting the 7000 to market that they have just forgotten about us.

Just wondering? I am thinking of getting an IPronto soon. I love the idea of a high end remote that I can also surf with. But from reading all of the posts complaining about bugs, I may need to reconsider, and just get a Pronto 7000 instead. I noticed that in one of your earlier posts you said you "must be lucky" since you had no problems with your Ipronto. Is this still the case? I see now you are inquiring about new software updates and support from Philips. I am trying hard to justify the purchase, but it is getting difficult as I read these posts.
Your thoughts are appreciated.

Not at all unhappy with my iPronto, but as I stated in my "must be lucky" post, there are issues with the unit that need to be cleaned up a bit. #1 the hard buttons are not active when the unit is sleeping, #2 Too many button presses too quickly will lock the unit up, and other minor bugs that I feel can all be cleared up with a firmware update. I will admit that the iPronto is way more remote than I need to handle my devices and if the Tsu7000 were available at the time I would have bought that instead. I have been using the ts1000 since it came out and other than the nicety of having a color screen it still handles my equipment with ease. Now that I have iPronto I probably will never change to the 7000 mainly due to the electronic program guide feature, That is excellent plus all of the real estate on the screen you can have huge buttons and even insert text panels to tell your wife what will happen when you press certain buttons. I will be posting my configuration when it is complete, probably not till after X-Mas because I dont have the time right now. So long story short, if you have gobs of devices to run with multiple macro's get the iPronto, if you are running 5 or 6 devices and only want on off / channel up down / volume control, then wait for the 7000.
good Luck

I really don't get all of the complaints about the iPronto. I've now had mine for over a month, and have yet to experience any problem. iProntoEdit is simple to use - place graphic, choose IR code from a list or download to remote and teach it the correct code. I spent about a month prior to receiving the remote designing various buttons, and trying out different layouts. I'm not completely satisfied with my design, but that's part of the beauty of the product, allowing me to try out various ideas.

It took me a while to get the web browsing function working, but that was because I had to also set up a proper working network at home first, something that I hadn't really done before. The EPG works as well, but my only complaint would be that not all channels are available.
