Ok here is some more info now that I have had a few hours to play with the software.

Fist off the file types for use with ipronto are called .icf files.

The software as I stated earlier is similar to NG.

In this version there is no support for transpearency (I hope this is being changed) and currently only supports 4-color greyscale text or frames (frames are now refered to as panels in the software).

There is also no emulation in this version of the software.

On the up side you can do multiple jumps from a button with adjustable delays in between, so a slide show effect would take place. The available screen area you are alowed to work with is 583x468 which confuses me a little given the 640x480 figure in the specs. I would guess that some of the width is used for the animated tabs but the height seems like it should be the full 480.

The buttons that are on the demo .icf as seen in the photos of the iPronto are not in the gallery. They can be loaded into the gallery but it's rather tedious. Buttons can retain there corosponding text and action list when loaded to the gallery if your select that option.

The EPG (Electronic Program Guide) will tune to the station based on the IR commands located on a special page called "Watch". This page has numbers 0-9 and enter that must be coded to the corrosponding TV/Cable Box/Tivo/or SAT.

When designing a page it will be important to place the most commonly used buttons in the upper left quarter of the screen. When using the page in small mode (with four 1/4 size windows displaying various devices/websites/EPG) it is the upper left quadrant that is displayed. It does NOT shrink the entire page due to the fact that the buttons would become too small to be used. When designing a page there is a semi transparent line to show you where the 1/4 section ends and also the minimize/maximize button locations.

The hard buttons appear to global not device specific. In most of the installs that I have done that wouldn't be that big of a deal but I expect this "feature" to change before final release.

Well that's about it for right now, I'll post more info as it comes.

There's the toolbar on the side which does take up horizontal space, and there is a frame around the window that would impact available vertical space. 6 pixels per side looks about right.

the limited size may have something to do with the flip page option found in the bottom right corner of each screen. i got my iPronto to take 580 x 467. the nice thing is you can keep adding new bmps and creating several pages of devices all on one screen even if you need more than 4 (can't see the reason you would need more than 4 however)
