Is it possible to have multiple EPGs? I have both DirecTV and Comcast Digital Cable.

Also, how do I get my EPG to be configured so that it changes the channel. I hit the buttons but it doesn't do anything...

Canthe EPG control multiple EPGs? I have a Sony HD receiver in the theatre and an RCA DTC100 HD receiver in the family room with the plasma....

Brand new here and learning by Trial and Error...

Thank you all in advance...

you can set it up on the software by telling what component you want to work with the epg...

try reading the posts and doing some long and
hard research before you start asking lots of
questions.

thats my humble opponion.

Thank you for your humble opinion. Though not asked for, it does enlighten me to the type of person you are and I realize that you are intolerant of those who know less than you. Luckily, I am not intolerant of those who don't know how to spell.

I thought the forum was for asking questions and for each of us to help each other out. Apparently, I was mistaken.

I have read some of your other posts and I was wondering if you'd be willing to name this "high-end home theater company" that you "own". I need to ensure that I neither purchase from you or ever recommend you...that is, if you actually own one.

As for your oh so helpful answer below, thanks for the cryptic response. I guess I will retire to another message board for assistance (as the manual is not helpful and I am gettig nowhere trying to program it myself) or hope that there are others on this forum who are a bit more forgiving of those of us who are new to the iPronto.

as for the epg you can set it up on the software
by telling what component you want to work with
the epg...

Sincerely,
RODSTAR

RODSTAR -

If double click on the device that you want to set for the EPG control -

- select device properties
- select settings

You will see a box to check making this your "watch device".

Thank you very much!!! That did it! I was trying to do it throught the iPronto itself, but I now realize that the real control is through the edit software.

Appreciate your help!!!

Primo,

I apologize too. It was my first post on the site and I was in a bad mood as well.

Probably can't afford some of the stuff you sell. Nowadays with other priorities (getting married, etc) the theatre is going to have to take a back seat. But, I had a pretty nice set-up going considering...

JVC D-ILA G15 Projector
Yamaha RX-V1 Receiver
CrystalImage Video Processor...

Ah, the good old days... I barely got away with getting the iPronto, but I promised her it would eventually make HER life easier and she could operate the whole theatre without my assistance...

We'll see if I can pull that off. Now, my next question to you. Besides the paltry documentation that comes with the iPronto and the annoying HTML based help file that comes with the Edit software, do you know where I can get documentation that I can print (like a PDF doc) that I can read and reference. Someone needs to write a "For Dummies" book for the iPronto....

Again, sorry for jumping down your throat...we all have bad days!!!

Is that the list your considering of getting?
or list of stuff you have?
Cause that sounds like a good home theater with that equipment...

Marriage? Then you'll never afford the good stuff...
lol...

I think the Ipronto will go the way of the dodo bird
(sorry to say it)
But we have been playing with and using Tablet Pc
for control..
I have a friend that works for Microsoft and they are pioneering software that will do incredible things soon.
I saw a demo of Longhorn (new Operating sys) and its absolutely incredible...blows away Xp.

The tablet pc will be inexpensive and be able to run just about anything in your house soon.

as for a printable manual for Ipronto...You just have to get to know the unit...spend lots of time playing with it...they have a ways to go before they get it right...its a nice remote for what it is...but the tablet pc will be soooo cheap in the future. you'll have one in every room...

Thats what microsoft is planning for....

anyhow email me if you need help on anything...

Primo,

That is the basics of what I already have. I also have a 42" HD Sony Plasma in my family room. It's a nice baseline of products. Plus, with my 4-proc server for DVDs ON Demand and MP3 serving I am in good shape.

I have the Acer Tablet PC and I am not a big fan of it. I have gone back to my Sony Vaio for real work. But, future generations of the tablet should be better.

The WinXP Media Center Edition is very nice. I have 2 of them, one in the theatre and one next to the Sony flat screen. It allows me to do so much and I am really happy with the functionality that it provides...

The iPronto is really frustrating. I don't like things that are not intuitive and I would say that it is not intuitive yet. Maybe I do need to spend some quality time with it...

Ah, the joys of being a geek. It drives my girlfriend crazy!!!!

Wow...dude you are tapped in...

Looks like you know what your doing...and I thought I was a geek....

Youll just have to be patient with the Ipronto...Not real happy I spent the 1000 bucks for it...but we have a few basketball players interested..I told them just wait a few months..they should have the bugs out by then...

I like the media center Havent put one in yet...thinking about it..

But man you have the right stuff...

enjoy...
