I see a lot of negative messages posted here about the iPronto and it has me worried. In fact I went from "Where do I buy it?" to "Good thing I checked the forums!" in nothing flat.

But I thought I'd ask anyways. Perhaps some of the problems that you've experienced have been taken care of by now - or perhaps what I've read is really the minority opinion.

If you had it to do all over again, would you buy an iPronto today?

I have had mine for about a month and do not regret it. I am sure someone will read this and say just give it time or have some "witty" remarks about it being a great paperweight - but even with all the negative remarks that you see on this forum - I have yet to see the first iPronto listed in the Marketplace forum and as a regular Ebayer i have not seen them listed for sale there. So what do all these people that have "given up" do with thier $12-1700 paperweight.

Sure there are some issues to be resolved - but I believe that Phillips will do just that. In the mean time I am enjoying the unit I purchased.

Bottom line - if I were buying the unit to include with a high end home theater system that I was installing for a non teckie user - I would not use the iPronto. If I were buying the unit for my personal use - I would BUY IT!

I returned both of the ones I bought to the dealer and got a full refund. Getting rid of them was the best desicion I have made since I started programing remotes.
