Last week I sent an email to Koninklijke Philips Electronics asking that the website (boot.pronto.philips.com) be re-activated so that owners of the iPronto TSI6400 may update their units to the last firmware version available iPronto_IPR_v1.9.4.

This was their reply:

[Unfortunately, We do not have access to the plans for software updates for certain products. The developers do not inform us of planned software update availabilities and I am sorry for the inconvenience. I will send a message to that department and tell them of the need for updates for this product.

Thank you for contacting Philips. If you need additional assistance, please contact us again and refer to INC1106936.]

As this is the only resource possibly available for this update I am interested in sending a message to Koninklijke Philips Electronics from all current users of the iPronto TSI6400. My goal is to encourage them to make this update available through download or server access so that all owners of this device can continue to use them. I believe that this is the least they can do for their customers.

Please join with me and post in this forum your user name, serial numbers and any other tactful message you wish to convey to Koninklijke Philips Electronics. I ask that you please use respectful language but I encourage you the share your frustration and legitimate desire to keep using this product that we all have invested our valuable time and money.

You may also send your messages to: ([email protected]
Refer to Incident Number #INC1106936

I truly believe that if we join together and show Philips just how many users need this information that we can encourage them to somehow make it available to us.

Thank You,

If they could at least release all the source materials needed to do an upgrade (ie. the update files and any iPronto/server communications necessary), it would even be possible to work around the domain name issue.

Those are my thoughts exactly, Daniel. That is why I am asking for support from other Remote Central members. I believe that if we show enough sincere interest we can encourage Philips to release the files in some useable format either via download of the source materials or by re-activating server access.
