Hello all. New member here.
My Harmony Elite has a TV input issue. Set up as follows: DirecTV is on HDMI 1, Roku is on HDMI 3, DVD on HDMI 2.

Problem is this: If the system is shut down while on the Roku, and the next turn on is for the DTV, the TV input does not change to HDMI 1, it stays on HDMI 3. All other activity is correct, but I have to manually change the input. All activity changes when everything is on work properly. Inputs in the activity setup are correct. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Sounds like you need to add change to HDMI 1 input in the power on macro/activity.

Thanks for your response. And allow my ignorance to shine. I have the DTV activity set to use HDMI 1. Is there another setting I have to make?

I'm not a Harmony guy, but I would think that an "activity" is just another term for a macro designed to change inputs and then control whatever box (DirecTV, Roku, DVD player). When you select DTV Activity, the remote should switch inputs (if programmed) and then switch the remote so the remote's buttons operate the DirecTV box. When you select the Roku activity, it should switch inputs to HDMI 3 based on what you stated above. Does it do that?

So do you have a Power On button and then select an Activity? If so, then the Power On should be a macro and in that macro you could add your input change. Sounds like anytime you power on, it should start at HDMI 1.

I think I have it. My Sony TV takes several seconds to turn on, so I have added a 10 sec delay before the HDMI assignment. It appears to work.

That seems excessive. I mean excessive to wait with the remote pointed at the TV that long. What if you put that command at the end of the DTV Activity? Then on would turn the tv on, then it would probably take a couple seconds for you to press the DTV activity, a second or 2 for it so change the remote to control the DTV box and then switch inputs to HDMI 1 in the program.

In other words, use the time to do all of the other things.

Yeah. I was thinking that as I was going to sleep. I will try your suggestion. I am going to put the HDMI assignment at the end of the activity list. Thanks for the suggestion.

Apparently the customization will not split two activities within the same device (Sony TV on, Sony TV HDMI 1). So I am back to a delay between TV on and HDMI 1 assignment. I can live with that.
