i need some help. i am looking at the harmony smart control. this is the package that retails for ~$60 at bb etc. it comes with the simple non lcd remote.
here is my question....
does that remote do ir directly or only rf to the hub?.

here is my setup and reason for the question.
in the living room i have a sony tv, sony sound bar and hdmi switch. in another room i have a directv box h44\700 as well as anothrr tv.
all of the components are connected to the 2in x 4out hdmi switch.
currently i use the dtv peanut remote via rf to control the dtv box, and it also controls tv volume and power via ir.

i THINK i can put the hub in the other room with the dtv box.
the smart remote could then control the dtv via rf to hub to ir to h44. the smart remote coul also direct control tv, sound bar hdmi switch via ir on the remote (hub not used)

am i correct, or would i need to figure out a way to run the ir blaster from the hub out to a suitable location in the main room?

second tv control is a bonus and would be ir via hub.
