I just purchased this remote & since it's a different set up than my Harmony One because of it's Hub for RF capabilities, I need some help. I'll try to explain this so it can make sense.
My free-standing entertainment center (once all the components are in place) leaves no room to place the Hub next to any of the pieces of equipment. For example, I have a fairly simple set-up consisting of my Samsung display, my Pioneer AVR, my Dish Hopper SAT Rcvr & my BD player. But the shelves that each of these pieces sit on leaves no room for placing the Hub next to any of them. Now I can place the Hub right next to any of them (if a wooden shelf separator is not an issue). IOW's, there is compartments next to each shelf with a divider wall. Make sense? Will this matter?
The only reason I actually went with this new Ultimate Home remote instead of staying with my Harmony One is that it seemed it was becoming sluggish & also since I changed over to this new entertainment center, the pieces of my equip. are very crowded when put in each compartment. That was causing, I think, problems particularly with my remote seeing my Hopper antenna & therefore wouldn't respond quickly or at all unless I tried multiple times.
The only place I can sit the Hub where it's next to one of my pieces is on the very top shelf next to my Samsung display, but it will still not have (uninterrupted) line of sight with my other components below it on the lower shelves.
So the bottom line question is this, does the Hub have to have uninterrupted sight to any of the equipment for this new remote to work? If so, does anyone have any suggestions for my situation? Also, after what I have explained above, does it appear that I will even need the IR Blasters that came with this unit?
I'll appreciate any help as I'd like to get this set up today.
Thanks,
