Can the Harmony 1100 be programmed like the Philips Pronto?
Meaning:
- macros
- enter codes for gear that's not in the Logitech database
- Is there any Linn gear in the database:
- Unidisk
- Kisto
Thanks!
Have you already bought it, or are you asking ahead of time?
It won't do macros in the sense that you can set it to send specific commands at specific times, with variables or long pauses, but it is a versatile remote. It will learn codes and if they turn out to be problematic, it can learn the RAW data, too. If you buy one and learn the codes, please use the name of the command that's on the device or its remote- the databases are full of made-up names that make no sense and when someone else tries to use those commands, they don't do what is needed. device and command. If needed, a delay can be inserted, with variable duration.
You can add commands to an activity sequence, choosing the
What Linn piece(s) do you have? For DVD, it shows the Unidisk 2.1, shows the Wakonda 4 zone controller and should have others, too. As long as the original remote doesn't transmit RF, it should work.
It's not perfect, but it can work very well. I did a house with three of these- one for the Den system, one for the Whole House audio, sharing some of the equipment (ReQuest Music server) and another for the 4rd Floor living room. The last one is the most simple, but I still have some commands that were added to the "activity" commands. This model also has a row at each side of the transport and number buttons and they can be used for just about any commands that you don't want to have to hunt for by going through pages of additional commands. I use them for the Whole House remote, to turn the House amp on, Living Room amp On, Both On and Both Off. The actual commands control the Denon AV receiver's 12VDC triggers and since the Zone 2 in/out circuitry isn't being used (I used a B&K preamp for House volume control and inputs/outputs), I could assign the triggers as needed without affecting any audio functions.
The RF ports are assignable, too. Makes life easy if you use more than one cable/satellite box or other redundant devices.
